Understanding your campaign report¶
Each email you send has its own report in Reports. This page explains what each number means and what to do about it.
Metrics glossary¶
| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sent | How many recipients Flashissue sent the email to. |
| Opens | Recipients who opened the email. On the Opens tab, the number next to each recipient is how many times they opened it. |
| Clicks | Recipients who clicked a link in the email. |
| Bounces | Emails that couldn't be delivered (see below). |
| Unsubscribes | Recipients who used the unsubscribe link. Flashissue won't email them again. |
| Spam reports | Recipients who marked the email as spam. |
Opens are an estimate
An open is counted when the email's images load. If someone's email app shows the email in a preview pane, that counts as an open, even if they didn't really read it. If someone's images are blocked, their open isn't counted. Use opens to spot trends, not as an exact figure.
Email reviews¶
Flashissue's automated systems check email content and lists for healthy sending practices. Sometimes an email is held for review, and nothing is delivered until the review is done. Reviews are usually quick but can take a few hours.
You're more likely to be reviewed when you've just started sending with us or you've just created a new list. Once you have a history of good content with low bounce and spam rates, reviews become rare.
Bounces¶
A bounce is an email that never reached the recipient's inbox. Common reasons:
- the email address doesn't exist,
- the recipient's mail server is down,
- the recipient's mailbox is full,
- the recipient's mail server blocked the email because of its content,
- your address or domain is on a block list.
High bounce rates usually mean an outdated list or one where people didn't opt in. After an address bounces, Flashissue won't try to send to it again, and it's hidden from your list. See Hidden contacts. Accounts with high bounce rates can be flagged or suspended.
Spam reports¶
Flashissue follows CAN-SPAM rules and adds an unsubscribe option to your emails. Only send bulk email to people who asked to receive it or who are your current customers. Sending to a purchased list counts as spam. Accounts that get too many spam reports are removed from the service.
