Google Contacts & Google Groups lists¶
Lists that stay in sync with a Google Contacts group (label)¶
Turn a group (label) in Google Contacts into a Flashissue list that updates itself:
- Go to Lists and wait for your groups to load.
- Click Add Group, next to New List.
- Choose the group.
When you add or remove people in that Google Contacts group, the Flashissue list follows. Refresh the list if you don't see the changes yet. Clicking a group list opens it in Google Contacts so you can edit it there.
Make a segmented list¶
For example, people in one ZIP code:
- In Google Contacts, search for the ZIP code, select everyone found, and add them to a new label, such as "ZIP 30307".
- In Flashissue, click New List, then Add Contacts, filter by the label, select everyone and click Add.
Google Groups email lists¶
You can send to a Google Groups address (like sales@yourcompany.com) just as you would to any other address. Google Groups then passes it on to the members. It's a handy way for several coworkers to reach the same internal audience. Flashissue sees the group as one recipient, so you won't get per-person reports. See Reports when sending to Google Groups.
Google Groups lists can't be shared with your team.
Some contacts are missing¶
- Flashissue only reads contacts saved in your Google Contacts. Contacts that only appear in Other contacts or the Directory aren't included, so add them to your contacts first.
- Check that the contact's name and email address are in the right fields in Google Contacts. Re-importing with the right columns fixes this.
- If a large list only shows the first 400 people, they're all still on the list; it's only a display limit. To see everyone, open another list, click Add Contacts and filter by the large list.
