Edit HTML source safely

You can edit the HTML of any text block.

Open the HTML source

  1. Click a text block to edit it.
  2. Click More to show the advanced toolbar.
  3. Click Source.

Tips for safe HTML

  • Each block holds only part of an email. You can't replace a whole template with your own HTML.
  • Email apps support far less HTML than web browsers do. Use simple tags (p, a, img, table, strong) and inline style attributes.
  • Iframes, scripts and forms aren't supported. To show something like a calendar, use a screenshot that links to the real thing.
  • Always send yourself a test after editing HTML.

Add a table of contents with anchors

You can link to sections further down the email.

<!-- table of contents at the top -->
<p><a href="#news">Latest news</a></p>

<!-- later in the email -->
<p><a name="news"></a><strong>Latest news</strong></p>
<p><a href="#top">Back to top</a></p>

Some email apps, including certain Gmail views on mobile, ignore in-email anchors.
